Counselling
People access Counselling for many different reasons, you may feel powerless, overwhelmed and unable to move forward. You may feel anxious, depressed or just have a low mood for no apparent reason.
Major life events such as bereavement, health issues, family conflicts and redundancy can be very distressing. Counselling can support you in making the right choices that feel comfortable for you.
It can be hard to manage painful memories and events, particularly if you come from a culture where you ‘just have to get on with it'.

Unhelpful and destructive coping mechanisms may push into areas of addiction, co-dependency and abusive relationship.

Whilst the COVID-19 Pandemic has been challenging on many different levels, it offers an opportunity to re-evaluate and work towards the life you desire.
I offer a journey of self-discovery in a supportive and none judgemental environment. Understanding oneself and feeling more at ease, can create new possibilities, awareness and choice.
Counselling Changes Lives
About Me
Jo Armstrong - Counsellor
I am an Integrative Counsellor combining different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of the client. I have worked as a Senior Counsellor and Supervisor for many years at a Community Interest Company in Plymouth. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Counselling is my passion and I feel privileged to have worked with a diverse range of clients over the years. It was the tragic loss of a close friend that initially took me on a personal journey and led me into counselling. I offer a safe, warm and supportive environment and my natural intuitive ability and creativity serve the therapeutic process.
My Location
I work from my therapy room in Buckfastleigh, which has easy access to Plymouth and Exeter via the A38. Sessions are 60 minutes long. Practice hours Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm. Evening sessions by negotiation.
Session cost £45.00. First session £35.00. Some concessions available.
